Angry and unhappy.
« on: November 15, 2012, 02:17:39 PM »
Please pray for me.  For the past couple of months I have been irritable, dissatisfied with life,  and in a generally lousy mood.

I'm sorry.

May the Lord strengthen you, ease your burdens, grant you patience and contentment.

Lord, have mercy!
Conquer evil men by your gentle kindness, and make zealous men wonder at your goodness. Put the lover of legality to shame by your compassion. With the afflicted be afflicted in mind. Love all men, but keep distant from all men.

Any idea what is causing it?  That's usually a good place to start.

God be with you all the same.

You know it's weird, I get angry and unhappy at work. But when I'm outside of it, I'm very carefree and happy. Another reason why I need a new job.

Gotta fix what makes you unhappy. Or if you can't, make lemonade out of lemons.

Lord have mercy.

There certainly are outside factors that I could blame it on, but I know that it is my attitude that needs to change.

That's a moral and mature response but it can be damaging if you blame yourself for everything.  If you can separate yourself from these outside sources of anger it will be best.  If they are out of your control then changing your attitude is the only thing you can do.  I guess that's where prayer comes in!

Lord have mercy.
Psalm 37:23 The Lord guides a man safely in the way he should go.

Prov. 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.

I'm dealing with the same thing.

What if instead of expecting the person or the situation to make us happy, or to not annoy us. What if we bring the happiness, love, peace and grace to the person or situation?
what I'm saying is instead of looking on the outside for happiness look on the inside of yourself and bring grace to wherever you go.

lets call it the BYOG (Bring Your Own Grace)
When we pray to God in front of our icons or in church and you feel that grace while praying.
Try and keep some of that grace in your heart and bring it wherever you go, lead with grace in every relationship or task that you encounter.
Its not so easy at first but i can say it helps me immensely.
Give it a go.
