don't even go there!

« on: May 26, 2013, 10:28:35 PM »

It's a relatively small problem, as prayer requests go.

But my husband is very upset because we just returned from a trip, and he's lost a bunch of keys that he will need when he goes back to work on Tuesday.  Sad

So - prayers please! Thanks!  Smiley

Lord have mercy. Make it possible that the loss of keys will not be as disruptive as expected.

Lord have mercy.

In the book Everyday Saints, Archimandrite Tikhon tells how he recovered a lost book after he prayed the prayer canon for lost things (Psalm 50-Have mercy on me oh God, followed by the Nicene Creed. I lost my gold cross, recalled the story, prayed the canon a few times, and found my cross in the hour.

I'm going to try that! Will let you know if anything turns up. So far nothing but we're hopeful it might be found at the hotel by the housekeeping staff. (P.S. I also said a prayer to St. Phanourios.  Smiley )

So far no sign, but we're keeping hope alive, to coin a phrase.

Thanks everyone! Cool

Time is getting short, back to work in a few hours...... hope he finds them.

BTW, when I saw the subject line of the thread and it was by thiestgal, I thought she might be infirming us that Pope Francis had lost St. Peter's Keys and that we can all get back together again!   Oh well, we can only hope...

Lord help them find the misplaced keys.

Isn't St. Nektarios helpful in finding lost items?

NO! Sorry! Because I know this is the Prayer forum!  Grin

No luck on the keys - we've asked every saint we can think of that's associated with finding lost things.
Maybe we should find a saint who hasn't been asked for much lately & feels a bit lonely.

Thanks everyone!

I pray to the Lord that you find your keys. In the meantime, do you all mind just sending a quick prayer that I find the books I forgot on my bus today? I just hope no one steals them. Many of the kids on my bus have no ethics, as much as I hate to admit it.

I am praying that your books turn up, right next to my keys if possible.  Grin

Thank you all for your prayers. I have recovered my books (found them on the bus yesterday, thank God). I do hope Theistgal eventually finds her keys.

Until then, Lord have mercy!

Thank God the books are found.  You must be relieved.

Now...for those keys...

Lord help everyone find what they have lost and are searching for.

^Indeed. Thanks again for your prayers and thank the Lord that I have found the books I was looking for.

I will keep praying that Theistgal finds those pesky keys! Lord grant this, according to your will.

Yay, glad to hear you found your books!

We've kinda decided the keys are a lost cause (  Roll Eyes ) so hubby is busy getting them all replaced.

Thanks anyway, everyone!  Smiley

I hope it's all solved quickly.

As much as I hate to lose a key, I like to go to the shop and watch them make new ones. I think that machine is neat. Smiley

Gee, sorry to offend you, I did say at the beginning that it wasn't a big deal compared to other problems people were having. But my husband was very upset and I was concerned. Excuse me for trying to be a good wife.  Roll Eyes

Did you check under seat cushions?  I have had times that mine have fallen out of my pocket and end up under the chair.
