Inclusive Orthodox Church
« on: November 07, 2012, 07:34:12 PM »
Anyone have any experience with this (obviously non-canonical) group, the Inclusive Orthodox Church? One of its bishops is president of The Interfaith Alliance Hawaii.

"OUR MISSION is to celebrate the Divine Liturgy, the seven sacraments and the Rite of Healing in an atmosphere of community and fellowship that fosters personal spiritual growth and physical healing.  Our mission is achieved when each of those with faith is filled with hope and a heightened awareness of God's presence in her or his daily life.  In practice, our sacramental spirituality leads each of us toward more love of one another, personal happiness and an inclination to practice ethical behavior.  God, through his Son, empowers each of us to realize more fully the healing power of the Holy Spirit within us and to assist others with similar achievement."

It looks like they have two bishops and one priest.

Even if they don't have an obviously fakodox name, this is usually the first clue that a group is not really Orthodox/Catholic/Anglican/Whatever it is they're faking.
Blessed Nazarius practiced the ascetic life. His clothes were tattered. He wore his shoes without removing them for six years.

THE OPINIONS HERE MAY NOT REFLECT THE ACTUAL OR PERCEIVED ORTHODOX CHURCH

The Inclusive Orthodox Church has not obtained nor is it specifically authorized by any of the patriarchs, nor — being non-canonical — is the Inclusive Orthodox Church under any papal or patriarchal authority or special protection.  However, we recognize, respect, honor and pray for all historic, regional and national patriarchal and metropolitan sees.

Woo-hoo! They admit to being uncanonical - that must be a first among these wannabe groups.  :o

I think that defeats the purpose of being non-canonical, admitting that you are non-canonical.
