I want to name my new soccer ball after someone who is inspiring to me in some way because this is a meaningful ball and it should have a meaningful name. It is tentatively named Jose Mourinho, if you know my avatar and have not guessed. I am wondering if there might be any other candidates. I'm looking for someone whose story isn't just about coming from a poor background and doing something cool: I want someone who has done something great. Suggestions?

There is this guy: http://www.johnsanidopoulos.com/2011/01/serbian-soccer-player-confesses-his.htmlThe international Serbian soccer player Mateja Kežman is an aggressive player, yet off the field he is a devout Orthodox Christian. He displays this on the Turkish soccer field when he celebrates wearing a shirt with an icon of Christ, even though he plays for the Turkish side Fenerbahce.
30 year old Kežman has on his right arm many tattoos. One reads "Only God can judge me" in Serbian, a text from Elder Tadej, one of the foremost recent monastic elders in the Serbian Orthodox Church. Another is an icon of Christ. He has expressed his desire to play in Russia for various reasons, one of which is to be in a more Orthodox Christian environment.

Unsure; I've heard that as well though. He does make the list of Sheffield United's worst ever signings though (record fee at the time).

I'm fond of David Beckham, myself. For being a hunk, for being inspiration to a whole generation of kids, for making girls interested in the sport, for being with the same woman for 15 years (in celebrity circles, that's, like, a lifetime) and raising four kids, for his work in the 2012 Olympic Committee (and being graceful in the face of the gross injustice that was leaving him out of the national squad in said Olympics) and in the Active Kids scheme... Bad boy turned clean-cut hero. Whoduthunk?
