Is the missa sicca blessed for use?


In my opinion, it shouldn't.

The Hours of the Divine Office and Little Offices of the Mother of God, Cross, Trinity, or Guardian Angel may be done as lay services.

The adaptations are very simple for lay use:

1. You omit "The Lord be with you" as only a priest or deacon can utter those words.
2. You substitute "O Lord, show us Thy mercy" (R. "And grant us Thy salvation").
3. No vestments are used, the altar cover is not turned back at, say, the Magnfiicat, etc.
4. No readings are read facing the people, all are done facing east.
