Perhaps I should have created this thread earlier, but anyway...

Tomorrow is the Election of the new Pope and Patriarch of the Coptic Orthodox Church, please pray that God may grant the Church a good new shepherd.

Through the prayers of The Theotokos and St. Mark the Evangelist, Lord grant this!

Lord, guide the election so that we may be blessed to have a good and faithful patriarch to shepherd Your Church in Egypt and throughout the world.

Severian,

I am sure that God will grant us the shepherd that is suitable to sit on the throne of St. Mark. Consider this; to move the Mokattam mountain, the church fasted for three days and their prayers were answered. On the contrary, this year, we fasted for 9 days for the selection of the new patriarch. If three days of fasting was able to move a mountain, nine days of fasting should be plenty for God to work though the hand of a small child in selecting the new Patriarch.
