As I have noticed, many of you all are music fanatics. Who isn’t these days? Also, as many have noticed, I just had my computer returned to me. The problem I have is all of my music is history. I still have my old iPod classic from about 4-5 years ago with the music, but I have no idea how to get it back onto my computer and into iTunes. My real concern right now is the iPod has been giving me a few issues and if it goes, all of my music (some of which I no longer have CD's) is gone with it. I have looked at some 3rd party programs, but the reviews are mixed. Had anyone else run into this issue and been able to solve the problem? I would appreciate any help! Thanks!

Do you know anyone who is "technologically" savvy? That is always the best route. If not, place a dollar amount on the data you have. Decide if you are willing to take a risk of losing that money by following advice from the internet. --------------------------------- If your iPod works and you can the play the music on it, this should not be that difficult to solve. So first things, first: Do you want to risk your data? (Again I would suggest the risk is slight and almost nil if you used the iPod formerly as unsynced drive basically. It will be a matter of plugging it into your computer with a copy of iTunes for the simplest way of solving the problem.)

I do, but iTunes isn't set up to retrieve music from the iPod.

I have just finished the transfer. It seems everything went well, at least so far. Thank you for the help and advice. It is a great feeling to know I didn’t lose all of my music. I suppose I will have to find a way to back everything up in the even this happens again in the future. Thanks to everyone who helped out.
