St. Daniel the Prophet

« on: October 15, 2012, 06:20:18 AM »

As I have noticed, many of you all are music fanatics.  Who isn’t these days?  Also, as many have noticed, I just had my computer returned to me.  The problem I have is all of my music is history.  I still have my old iPod classic from about 4-5 years ago with the music, but I have no idea how to get it back onto my computer and into iTunes.  My real concern right now is the iPod has been giving me a few issues and if it goes, all of my music (some of which I no longer have CD's) is gone with it.  I have looked at some 3rd party programs, but the reviews are mixed.  Had anyone else run into this issue and been able to solve the problem?  I would appreciate any help!  Thanks!

Do you know anyone who is "technologically" savvy?

That is always the best route.

If not, place a dollar amount on the data you have.

Decide if you are willing to take a risk of losing that money by following advice from the internet.

---------------------------------

If your iPod works and you can the play the music on it, this should not be that difficult to solve.

So first things, first:

Do you want to risk your data? (Again I would suggest the risk is slight and almost nil if you used the iPod formerly as unsynced drive basically. It will be a matter of plugging it into your computer with a copy of iTunes for the simplest way of solving the problem.)

I do, but iTunes isn't set up to retrieve music from the iPod.

Did anything get lost or corrupted?

I have just finished the transfer.  It seems everything went well, at least so far.  Thank you for the help and advice.  It is a great feeling to know I didn’t lose all of my music.  I suppose I will have to find a way to back everything up in the even this happens again in the future.

Thanks to everyone who helped out.

Is it sad that this is one of my most proud moments on OC.net?!  I mean who would think that you can get real & trustworthy advice on real technical issues, from a RELIGIOUS SITE?!?!
