Test it against the official teaching of the Church dogmatized in the Ecumenical Councils.. The church does not have a formal answer for every detailistic question/position.It has some theologumens but a lot of things remain open to interpretation, at least from my pov.

Every formula of every religion has in this age of reason, to submit to the acid test of reason and universal assent.
