Hello everyone!

The board upgrade went to plan so far!

This next week I will be tweaking individual features depending on preferences, so you may notice some changes here and there.

Please voice opinions, complaints, bugs, or anything in this thread.

Thank you!

Wow Robert,

This looks like it's really going to rock once you get everything smoothed out.  Thanks for all your hard work.  I haven't tried all the new things yet.  It looks great.  Very much appreciated.  This must be a real labour of love for you.  Thank you again. Cheesy

Unicode is messed up on the new board. You have to manually set it each time until Robert can fix it. But as soon as he can figure out what went wrong, it will display all our nice languages again Smiley

i LOVE the new look! woo hoo! GREAT work Robert, you are awesome Smiley

one little question though...it seems like the fonts are smaller, and i can tell that after several hours of browsing the boards it will be a strain on my eyes (i have poor eyesight)...if this isnt a problem for anyone else, i dont wanna be the sole cause for tweaking it, but if it isnt a huge deal and it's an easy change, do you think maybe we could enlarge the fonts a tiny bit?

hmm there's no more Who's Online anymore?

and no more bio section of the profiles...

these arent necessarily complaints, just observations, but i would be curious as to what went into the decisions to get rid of em...

Who's online is available by clicking on the bottom under users where it says 12 Guests 0 Buddies 14 Members or something like that. If you click that it will take you to Who's Online.

As far as bio section of profile, I would like to see that back and also a part for religious affiliation.

Rob,

Everything looks great.  We can all see the blood, sweat, and tears you've put into OC.net for the past several years.  One request: There's an old thread about the Virgin Birth and SVS that had a few posts by Hypo-Ortho, and he is listed as a guest.  Would it be possible to change it from Guest to "Memory Eternal" or some such thing as a testament to John's memory.

Hey Rob,

I am digging the changes, especially the font! Thank you for all of your labor!  Grin

I was wondering how to differentiate the new posts from older ones, because when I open a thread, I am not seeing anything identifying new posts - am I missing something?

Also, will the view all pages feature be making a comeback? I liked this feature when I hadn't been online in a few days, because I could just open the whole thread up in one shot.

I also like Anastasios's idea about the "religious affiliation" thing.

Thanks again Rob!

In Christ,
Aaron

You should start getting used to using the link at the top that reads:

"Show all new posts since last logon"

It will present all unread topics in chronological order in an easy to read format.

It's good to have emoticons back.

I noticed from the handily placed (top right) stats that we should probably hit 60000 posts sometime tomorrow and not too far into tomorrow either.  Unless we all  suddenly stop talking.  Grin

I encourage everyone to take advantage of the new 'topic rating' system which should be located in the upper-right hand corner of the threads.  It allows you to voice your opinion on the quality of the material in the thread, in helps to others who may be browsing and may just want to read the "good" ones.

Robert,

I was just wondering.....is it possible to bring back the feature where we can view the last 50 posts on the board (instead of the current 10)  and also the next 50 etc.  Just wondering.  I liked that feature.
Thanks.

Hey Rob,

I am curious to know what the next smileys will be like once this holiday season is over?

Will they be the same, except without the santa hats?

And will the smileys keep their holiday appearance only through the New Calendar Christmas, or will they stick around through the Old Calendar Christmas?  Cheesy   Tongue
