St. Osio the Faster
« on: September 20, 2012, 08:04:53 AM »
I have seen the date of commemorating a Sain Osio the Faster marked as October 15 in our calendars and wondering if it was in error.
Can some let me some information of this saint?

George

Dear George,
Very Rev Mani Rajan Cor-Episcopa in his Book "Saints Martyrs and Hierarchs of the Syriac Church - Vol 5" tells us about Mor Ossyo. It is in Chapter 6.

The book is in Malayalam. I am guessing you know how to read Malayalam. Here is a link to the book.

Thank You  Mathew Sir.  I can read and understand but not good in translating . Pray that Achen translate into English sometime.

 For all -

St. Ossyo is commemorated in the Syrian Orthodox Church and belived to have departed in AD 377.
He is remembered in Aleppo on October 15 and left behind asking his disciples not to forsake what he taught and that nothing in this world is lasting.

Let us pray he be with the suffering Church in Aleppo

Pray the both factions of the Orthodox Church in India turn back to past and learn from the lives of the great of the past
