How's William coming along?

I got sick and went down to 140. Maybe I'll just stay as a hungry skeleton.

In the Russian Кот Леопольд cartoons, the mice and the cat actually look like skeletons. The mice try to disrupt the x-ray screening, and that is what the dancing skeletons made me think of. Anyhow, remember that too much weight lifting makes you look ugly and will hurt, but if you do it up to 4 times a week, with days of rest after every 2 days of work, you should be OK. That is how the Arlington (NY) High School football team did conditioning.

Ok. I admit, that's a funny one compared to most.

Still, I do wonder about the guys who do these ads. More so other ones I've seen*, but even with something like this. Why are bodybuilders willing to reinforce these stereotypes and encourage discrimination and rudeness? Just to be in a commercial? Make a few bucks? Hope they are "discovered" like Arnold?

I mean, I want to have a sense of humor about it. It's just frustrating sometimes. I guess they know what they're getting themselves into when they decide to pursue this...

Multivitamins are a waste of money for healthy people, according to physicians

Use of multivitamin supplements in the United States has never been higher, but unless someone has a severe nutritional deficiency there’s a good chance those supplements aren’t doing any good. Not only are they ineffective, but may also bring unintended harmful side effects. The editorial comes from Edgar Miller, a professor of medicine and epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University, along with a panel of other physicians and was published in Annals of Internal Medicine this week....

My grandmother made me take them when I was young...they tasted horrible. Hopefully they'll all go away for giving me the one negative memory of going to my grandmother's house on the weekends :)

In other news, I've decided to return to competitive wrestling. By the time my weight is down I'll be 35 and competing in the "golden" division...Lord have mercy I feel old now :)

Yes, actually... it was quite embarrassing for all involved.  See what happened was, they invited Obama and all the living former presidents down to the Bush Library for a fund raiser. Well, once they all got there the Bush family, who are big fitness buffs, challenged everyone to a flexing contest, thinking that they would win easily, not knowing that Clinton had been doing some amateur bodybuilding in his spare time over the last few years. Well when Clinton showed up the Bush family (and you can see, in the picture below, that while he is in shape, Bush wasn't good enough to beat Clinton) a lot of politics came into play, and they were saying that Bush couldn't lose because it was their library, and all sorts of stuff like that, so the judges said Clinton lost. Well you know as well as I do that Clinton can't always control himself, so he went down and took a pee in the water. Then he turned around, stripped his clothes off (control problems again...), and posed in front of the pool, like he had marked his territory and was declaring victory. It made all the local papers, but the Bush Industrial Complex was able to suppress the story before it made it over the TX lines. Somehow some pics leaked out onto the interwebs though, probably because of the connection Clinton has with Gore.
