Twice as a rule, and whenever else the occasion calls for it, of course.

I am asking because I think I don't pray enough. I see that it is a personal thing and that everyone's situation and journey is different. For me, I pray three times per day. but I want to increase that.

St. Augustine of Hippo pray for me!

To be honest, perhaps once every three days when my conscience bothers me about it. Praying is so hard to me. And I develop these notions about God and begin to despair about my sin and it drives me further away from prayer. Please pray for me brothers, I know that I am on the path to destruction.

Ahh, ok, thank you. Sounds good, though from what I read the things important in prayer (in order of importance) are:

Fervor
Consistency
..
..
..
..
..
..
..
..
..
..
..
Amount of Praying

My goal is to pray three times a day. I was doing good for a while but stumbled on Sunday and then again this morning. Back to it starting at evening prayers tonight! Smiley

What does Asteriktos mean by consistency?

From what I've read and been told, that it's better to pray a little each day consistently, rather than a lot one day, little the next, none the next, a lot the fourth day, etc.

Or was that a joke based on my user name?  angel

I try to pray as much as I can.  Certainly at meals.   I often say the Jesus prayer through several moments of the day.

At night I may read the psalms as I fall asleep.

We also pray as a family once a day to do the Lord's will.

But it is NOT enough seriously.  Look, we all have the same target and we need prayer guys!

If you don't have anything to pray for, please I beg of you, pray for me!    I need all I can get!  Roll Eyes

I'm serious too!  But also, we should all pray for one another as often as possible.   This world is one twisted up sinful place, and we are brothers and sisters in Christ.

I try to pray three times each day, however, I don't always succeed because of school, work, laziness etc. and sometimes I get it boiled down to just the Lords Prayer.

A short prayer in the morning (the Lord prayer) when I wake up, a short one before meals, and before sleep.

St. Luke, pray for us!

That's one of these things I wonder how often people do. But there is a danger of proud or contrary: discouragement, because other people pray more than me.

The basic for me are Morning and Evening prayers, one psalm, Jesus Prayer, some short prayers for my family, friend etc. I also say short prayer before and after the meal (but stills working on it, as sometiems I forget about it). During fasts and great feasts I try to pray much more.

But, actually I think the more important things is the quality than the quantity of prayer.

Maybe the question should be: do you spend more time in prayer or on this forum?
