The Akathist Hymn in Syriac
« on: September 03, 2012, 05:41:55 PM »
For people not familiar with Eastern Orthodox liturgical use of Syriac, I've transcribed and made into a pdf the Akathist Hymn in Syriac translation. The text comes from Sinai Syriac Manuscript 129 (1255 AD), ff. 127v-136r. It can be viewed here-- http://araborthodoxy.blogspot.com/2012/09/the-akathist-hymn-in-syriac.html

The original manuscript is digitized here-- http://www.e-corpus.org/notices/98725/gallery/

Great job! Probably you spend a lot of time on it, so you have my appreciation.

I wish one day I could read Syriac...
