"Lord Have Mercy on Me a Sinner!"

WWW
« on: August 29, 2012, 07:18:16 AM »

I can't log into my facebook account. I keep getting a message that it has been "temporarily locked." They are asking me to upload a picture ID. I can't even log in using my security questions. I have no idea what happened. All I know is that this happened last night after using my laptop computer from out of town. But I've used this computer before from out of town, and this has never happened. And even if I do take a photo of my ID and upload it, it will still have my birth name and not "Gebre Menfes Kidus." And apparrently no one else can see my facebook page either. I have searched all the "help" questions on facebook, and nothing addresses the problem. I have tried resetting my password and evverything, but to no avail. Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks.

You might upload the picture ID together with your baptismal certificate, where the name "Gebre Menfes Kidus" is mentioned.

I can see your page!

Don't upload anything!

That's not how FB works.

NEVER upload your information like that.

Actually, that is how FB works when they suspect a false account. Facebook has a policy against using a different name than your "official" government name- but you can request your "alternate name" to be used on your profile.

So, they expect you to upload your official ID?

With your personal information on it?

I would certainly hope not!

Yes. But that's what ID is for: to identify a person and verify they are who they say they are.

Facebook knows your current O2 stats.

Don't worry about it.
