Chasin' down a Hoodoo...

« on: August 26, 2012, 10:58:08 PM »

I'd just like everyone to remember our fellow Americans along the Gulf Coast in their prayers.  It's looking like Hurricane Isaac is fixing to do some major damage.  My mother and cousin will be driving up to Missouri from Louisiana where they live to avoid any evacuation rush.  I'm confident that they'll be OK (and hopefully their property) but I'm really concerned for those who might not have the option of leaving.

Lord, have mercy upon those in the path of Hurricane Isaac.  Most Holy Theotokos, please comfort those who live along the Gulf Coast.

My area is directly in the path of the storm. While we don't expect too much wind damage, we do expect enough rain to cause some flooding.

Lord, have mercy.

My family has made to Missouri safe and sound.  Yet even though Isaac has been downgraded to a tropical storm, it's knocked out power for thousands of residences.  As many as 4,000 people are living in shelters now.

Lord, have mercy!

The community of Kentwood is being evacuated because the Percy Quinn dam is in danger of collapsing.

Lord have mercy!
