Does it matter to any OO church whether I am chrismated in a church under the prelacy or in a church under the diocese?

It should not matter at all. There may be tension between Etchmiadzin and the House of Cilicia, but they are still in communion with each other. Therefore all the OO Churches are in communion with both.

Are there ever issues between the different Oriental Orthodox Churches in accepting converts transferring from one patriarchate or catholicate to another? I ask because some of the Byzantine Orthodox clergy (mostly amongst the Athonites and Russians) won't always accept converts who were received in a way they judge to be incorrect and will require them to be rebaptized or rechrismated by themselves before they will accept them as Orthodox. It is a sinful, prideful practice against the teaching of our hierarchy, but it still happens periodically. (I think when it happens most people don't protest it because they are young Orthodox and don't realize that however they have been received, they are received and fully Orthodox.) It should not matter at all. There may be tension between Etchmiadzin and the House of Cilicia, but they are still in communion with each other. Therefore all the OO Churches are in communion with both.

I don't think so. I mean, the Armenian Church uses unleavened Hosts for the Eucharist and it has been accepted by the rest of the communion so if that's not a problem, I don't think differences in Baptism will be either.

I'm remembering that a couple of weeks ago, a poster here gave someone advice that when burning incense it's a good idea to have one of the windows open a bit. Good advice indeed.

Where did you hear the word "Armo?" Is it used in the UK? Here in the Los Angeles area, it's an ethnic slur, meaning Armenian.

What kind of tensions? The tension is over who has jurisdiction in the diaspora. Like I said, it hasn't resulted in any excommunications, but it is an issue that needs to be worked out.

I think Armo is short for Armenian. It is. Btw, "armo" means both "mercy and "grace" and in Finnish language.

salpy, it's in anastasia 1's faith section. it looked like a mix of ammo (ammunition) and arms (armaments) , hence i wondered if it was something warlike (which would not have fitted with anastasia1's great posts, hence the humour).
we don't have enough armenians to have rude words about them, not like africans, jews, pakistanis, chinese etc. they all have plenty of rude names (sorry!) i have met about 20 armenians so far in the uk, and had to make the effort to go to an armenian church to find them! (except for one work colleague who is a zoroastrian armenian)

Liberal is because I am not good at the whole denomination thing and know that I swallow fundamentalist life advice a little too well for my own good. Armo for Armenian. salpy, it's in anastasia 1's faith section. it looked like a mix of ammo (ammunition) and arms (armaments) , hence i wondered if it was something warlike (which would not have fitted with anastasia1's great posts, hence the humour).

Great posts-thanks. What a pity. Religious Armenians are awesome! Non-religious can be pretty great too-Lord have mercy on their souls.
