Definitely Tupac Shakur. The man really did love his people and try his very hardest to be vocal and solve issues in his community. One time when talking to his lawyer, he pointed to a children's pre-school and said that if he goes to jail and can't work, then they cannot eat. He did not get very much money for his work, but of the little bit he got, he always donated most of it to charity. And while in jail he used to talk on the phone with the guards' troubled teenagers and lecture them about staying out of trouble. A very good man. Sure he had his problems, but deep down he was amazing and good hearted. Also, Bob Marley, he advocated peace during so much tension in his country and really just loved peace. He was a simple man but he held fast to his virtues and really tried to better his community and fight issues with peace and love through the one talent he had; music.

John Lennon, doubtful; "Imagine there's no Heaven, no Hell below us..." I don't know, but I've always wondered about the violent death to which he was subjected at a young age; I do like most of his, and "The Beatles" music though, but one evening I was singing this song while listening to "60's on 6" and realised what I was saying. I've turned the song off since.

Poor Taft deserves a little leniency after suffering through the tub incident. . . I'll give him my vote.
My personal picks: I'd love to imagine the Marx Brothers and Chaplin in Heaven. . . Out of my favorite writers, Gogol seems the safest bet, but it would be nice if someone like Calvino was allowed. Bach had better be. Actors? Gregory Peck. . . It'd be nice if Kenji Mizoguchi could join in, too.

I do sincerely hope he is among the redeemed. I do not think it is unreasonable to assume so, either. Sure, he had his heretical points, but very few Ecclesiastical writers/Fathers contributed as much as he did to Christian thought. He was also a man of prayer, austere asceticism, and fasting.

I hope Diogenes is there. He is, in my humble opinion, the greatest of all the Greeks.

I would second that, and throw in Laozi as well.
