A little while ago, I asked for help regarding Hesychasm and the help I got was nice.
So can I once again ask for some book-advices on the subjects:
1. Sin-original sin
2. The patriarchate (and how it worked in the past and in present time)
3. How to live as an orthodox today
4. Life in the orhodox church
Forgive me if this appears as clumsy or annyoing. I am new to an old and very complex, structured world and way of living that I would like to learn a lot more about.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
For the patriarchate, I'd recommend
The Orthodox Church by Met. Kallistos Ware and also
The Historical Road of Eastern Orthodoxy by Fr. Alexander Schmemann. You might also check out Fr. Tom Hopko's Speaking the Truth in Love podcast series on Ancient Faith Radio. Right now, I think he is up to 38 podcasts in a series (called "Bishops") on the topic of the episcopacy. It has taken me a while, but I'm nearly caught up with it
For life in the Orthodox Church, the best thing I've read so far is probably
The Corner of East and Now by Frederica Mathewes-Green. It is more of a stretch, but you might also look at
Father Arseny, 1893-1973. I recommend the Fr. Arseny book just because most people could learn a lot simply by emulating him.
