More and More, Star Wars Galore

Josh Trank to Direct ‘Star Wars’ Standalone Movie

“Chronicle” and “Fantastic Four”-helmer Josh Trank will direct a standalone “Star Wars” movie, Lucasfilm and Disney have announced.

The subject of the movie has not been revealed, but would feature characters from the “Star Wars” universe and not be part of the upcoming trilogy, starting with next year’s “Star Wars: Episode VII” that J.J. Abrams is currently helming.

Trank’s deal follows Lucasfilm’s hiring of “Godzilla”-director Gareth Edwards to helm a separate standalone “Star Wars” adventure.

Disney has previously said it wants to release a new “Star Wars” film every year, following “Star Wars: Episode VII,” out Dec. 18, 2015. Last month, Disney chief Bob Iger said the company and Lucasfilm plan to produce three more films and “at least” three spinoffs over the next decade...

I'm still hoping for a Lego Star Wars Movie. Feature-length theatrical release and all.

The path of destruction to be cut by the new Millennium Falcon through the forces of evil has begun!

I'm nervous about this new effort to suck every last drop out of the Star Wars brand. The most recent 3 movies hurt it enough, must we completely destroy the fantasy of my youth?
The term planet earth is an innovation which has arisen in recent centuries with the error of heliocentrism.

If one wants to confess a pure doctrine of Orthodoxy, they should be careful not to refer to the earth as a planet, unlike the current Pope as well as Patriarch Kirill and Patriarch Bartholomew, who regularly speak in error when they refer to our planet earth.

George Lucas and the people at Disney are money-whores, so yes.

They are going to reboot the prequelogy.  I hope.

New spin-off:  Grand Admiral Thrawn?  Boba Fett?  Clone-Emperors?  The mind bottles.

Perhaps they will hit up The Old Republic at some point.

Will they stay consistent with the Expanded Universe? I hope if they do, they do a good job. I only know the New Republic EU from wikis, I am not well read on it otherwise.

There was a lot of talk about the adventures of young Han Solo.

The Lego Star Wars video games seemed fine, not content with those?
