The Slippery Slope of Modalism

Usain Bolt is da man!

I root for Jamaica because of the whole Cool Runnings syndrome.

Usain Bolt may be the most dominant athlete in any sport ever. He is certainly the greatest pure sprinter of all time. Pretty cool to see such an historical achievement. Gotta love his positivity and joy as well. Awesome.

Amen!  Women's gymnastics and Usain Bolt are the only reason that I watch the Olympics.

Shout out to fellow Oregonian Ashton Eaton who proved himself the best athlete in these Olympics by winning the decathlon.

A buddy of mine and I were discussing this the other day. One time being a decathlete was a big deal. Made Bruce Jenner a household name.

Now nothing.

Terrible name though, Ashton Eaton.

US won in women's soccer!

I don't think we were the better team; Japan outplayed us. We were lucky and had a few good plays and players (Lloyd, Morgan, and especially Solo). The long and tough match against Canada almost did us in. However, we had by far the best team in the tournament and this win was poetic justice.

I agree. I think team sports are so much harder to excel in (and I am not talking about a gymnastic or swimming "team" here). OTH, Bolt's accomplishment over two Olympics and his world record times do setting him apart as one of the greatest athletes of all times. I was also impressed with the fact that all three medals went to Jamaica. Bravi!

This is pretty cool! Training partners with the same coach, Alberto Salozar of the Nike Oregon Project, finished 1-2 in the men's 10km final last Saturday. Mo Farah, officially representing Great Britain, finished first for the gold, with the USA's Galen Rupp of Portland, OR, trailing him by just a couple steps for silver.

LeBron should put his MVP, his finals MVP, his finals trophy, and his gold medal in his car, drive to Skip Bayless' house, and burn it down!

Greetings in that Divine and Most Precious Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

What a great win for Mexico!! What a great win for TEAM USA!!

Lets put this in perspective.  The 92 Dream Team had to play Tony Kukoc.  The 2012 Keep on Dreaming team had to play against dozens of NBA players.  Spain had NINE NBA players on their roster and their starting five were ALL starters in the NBA playing at all-star levels.  The Dream Team simply NEVER had to play some fairer competition like that, and if they did, perhaps their numbers would have been similar to the current 2012 results Wink

LeBron should put his  (3) MVP (s), his finals MVP, his finals trophy, and his (2) gold medal(s) in his car, drive to Skip Bayless' house, and burn it down!

That is not Lebron's style, he tends to let his game do the jacking up haters for him.  So I guess he should just go to Skip's house and just ball it up all over his kids in his driveway, and shatter the plastic backboard like it was a Shaq-attack on the glass Wink

stay blessed,
habte selassie
