Two things which need to be considered:
1. Streptococcus mutans was called that because of its ability to mutate. Like the influenza virus, it's a very slippery customer to pin down with a vaccine, a "kill pill", or a locally-acting agent.
2. Visits to the dentist will NOT be a thing of the past, even if this "Keep 32" stuff is shown to be successful (I doubt it). Gum disease is still with us, with no sign of any vaccine or cure (and not through lack of trying, according to my dentist), and is a major cause of tooth loss, in many countries even more so than tooth decay. Maintenance of good gum health still needs a dentist's care.
Then there are injuries to the teeth and face, correction of bites, and a whole lot of other services that dentists provide. They won't go away either.

Guess I better make my every five or so year pilgrimage to the dentist then.

I have to preface my disclosure. I am a dentist. I have a simple question. How many pre-commerically available, evidence based, functional, ground breaking, "miracle" vaccines or devices in the medical and pharmaceutical field have been introduced to the public from news media and public newspapers before the physicians started using it? None. Was any effective cancer drug or vaccine introduced in X City Daily News before physicians started using them? Why do people feel the need to disgrace dentistry with non evidence based news stories? This isn't the first time it happened. Just recently, Good Morning America gets their hands on a very poorly designed study from neurologists who say dental xray causes benign neural tumors and everyone refuses dental xrays. The media gets their hands on an Australian study that says Listerine causes cancer ignoring 50 years of research and everyone runs to over the counter alternatives that have zero scientific research.
Even if Keep 32 can wipe out one or some bacteria, there are literally dozens of different species living in synergistic environment. If you wipe out one or some of them, you're just end up with opportunistic bacterial infections causing different damage. The problem is not the bacteria, the problem is the sugar intake disrupting the oral environment. The problem is a society that promotes risky behavior by dismissing personal responsibility. (After all that's how the banking and real estate industry destroyed the economy). You want to "do away with the need for visits to the dentists forever", as this news story suggests? Take responsibility for your diet. Put down the junk calories. Floss daily and maintain proper oral hygiene and you not going to have cavities. Rather spending millions of dollars in research to come up with a dental vaccine that may or may not work, spend less than a dollar on something professionals know works - floss. Better yet, rather than believing Rob Waugh from Mail Online or any other media journalist who is only interested in getting publicity, take a proactive approach to your health instead of a five or so year pilgrimage to a professional.
Seriously, have we entered a new generation where news media is more credible than professionals? What's next? A New York Times journalist is going to tell us that researchers have developed a vaccine to do away with confession and repentance? No need to visit a priest. Watch even more pornography because you won't need to go to a priest. Your soul will miraculously heal by blocking your mind when you have a temptation.

What about plaque build up? There was this one course I took in college, I think it might have been Organic Chemistry or something, and one of our lab projects was to grow the bacteria we harvested from our mouths. We were given a wad of wax to chew for a few minutes, and then that wax got spread all over the petrie dish and incubated for a week. The following week we were all greeted with a variety of colorful fuzzy dishes. Some had more, some had less. Mine had almost nothing growing on it. Turns out after, after further research, that there are certain foods that have an anti-bacterial property and are good ways to keep your mouth germ free. One of the best is onions. Yup, onions. Well, I love onions, and we are always eating them - fried, raw, whole, chopped, you name it we eat it. So, save the money on all those drugs and applications, and just eat a few onions! ...and of course, visit your dentist regularly for your yearly cleaning and gum exam.

First you need to spell fluoride right if you are going to poke fun at people. Secondly it is "sodium fluoride" that is toxic. Third, these are two different things. I am against sodium fluoride in our water supply, but not against things that are good and beneficial to our teeth. Understand that you drink sodium fluoride when its in the water supply. Rubbing it on your teeth is different. You spit out toothpaste instead of swallow because of the sodium fluoride. With toothpaste, you are supposed to use a pea sized amount, which is the equivalent of the sodium fluoride in 8oz of drinking water. On toothpaste it says to contact poison control if you swallow more than is used in brushing. Now go have a nice big 16oz glass of water and enjoy the byproduct of the aluminum industry. Calcium fluoride (which occurs naturally) does not have the same neurological effects on your brain. Despite the argument of whether or not you are for sodium fluoride in the drinking water, I think you have miss judged those against sodium fluoride because by the statement you made, conclusions are drawn that anti-sodium fluoride advocates, do not want anything beneficial to teeth.

I don't disagree with what you are saying... But check this out. We don't use any sodium fluoride at all in my home. In fact we make our own toothpaste with a combination of sodium bicarbonate, vegetable glycerine, stevia, and coconut oil. We also floss. My wife and I have 5 children. No cavities, barely any plaque build up, and our dentist basically says "good", and doesn't comment any further than that. We tell him and he says "the results speak for itself" and "I can't talk about it though". We also DO NOT vaccinate. We have had BARELY any illness in our family at all. Our children have not been sick in 2 years. The last time was a 24 hour stomach bug. Then a 1 year cap to a slight fever & cold for a couple days. The children are not fat, they are slender. We eat all home made foods, home grown foods, and NOTHING (non-exaggerated) processed. We incorporate a lot of raw food in our diet. We also drink 5 stage reverse osmosis water with an added sodium fluoride filter. That said, our goats are the same way... "Off the books". The books encourage all kinds of vaccines, cracked corn, different hays. We do NONE of that. They drink rain water (collection system) and eat ONLY what is grown on the land. When people see them they often say they are some of the nicest looking goats they have seen. Healthy coats, bright eyes.... The chickens are the same way. No chicken feed, no medications. Pure non-fertilized grass, bugs, and occasional table scraps. They have shiny feathers, bright red combs, and lay tons of eggs. So basically what I am saying is that I don't disagree with your points, or your profession.... I think that medicine, as a whole, has cast off the health offered in the creation that God made for us. Everything is there that we need. People argue about polio and different things that vaccines have helped.... Sure we could argue circles about more sanitary living standards coming about as the disease was wiped out, or that people stopped drinking from contaminated water, or if the vaccine really wiped it out... Whatever, that was then. Today, 62 vaccines. In 1999 the standard was 23. 2012 - 62. The harm? Again controversial arguments exist... But we rooted back to the creation, and so far so good. God's design & creation was perfect for us, I am 100% convinced of this. Treat the temple with his creation, the bright and vibrant fruits and veggies, tasty spices, raw honey, propolis, and royal jelly..... You will be energized, slender, healthy, vibrant, and your immune system rock solid.

Yeah....I always find the side effect of DEATH to be a downer.
Let's see, is the risk of death worth growing shiny hair?
Better yet are the lawyer commercials.. "Have you or a loved one used drug X and suffered migraines, loss of work due to side effects, or even death? Call us, we can help!"
Yeah, I'd like to see the dead man phone him to complain he died due to drug X.
