Ond means evil, you're confusing it with ånd.
Indeed. I should really study some Bokmål.

God's chosen language.

You don't like Nynorsk?

It's a joke lol. I am from Bergen, of course I like Nynorsk.  Smiley

I'm sure most people are aware that Nynorsk has a historical connection to Old Norwegian, and Bokmål is simply a Norwegian variant of Danish. But a large majority of the population use Bokmål and teach it in school (even in many of the regions it is declared as "official" in, like Hordaland). Despite both being official languages of Norway Bokmål is, in all honesty, the more useful/powerful one.

Thanks Danmark. Tongue

There aren't any Nationalist parties or groups who would like to get rid of Bokmål or otherwise prefer Nynorsk?

Bergen city? It seems to me that the city dialect is extremely cose to Bokmål/Danish, for example using 2 grammatical genders only instead of three.

It is more the nearby countryside that is a stronghold of Nynorsk. Actually, it seems to me that the big problem of Nynorsk is that it lacks an urban center. That is not surprising, since the Danish administration, school system etc. was the most influencial amongst the educated urban population.

Loddefjord, so not the city proper, no. About 10 km from the centre of the city.

We learned Bokmål in school as a first language and Nynorsk also as an "elective". Most people speak Bokmål in and around town, but Nynorsk is still used by a large minority of people, and many commercials and programmes.

Our Father

French :

Amen.

In our parish, we dislike the ecumenical version. We use this version:

Amen.

"Our Father" in Macedonian:

како на небото, така и на земјата;
како и ние што им ги проштеваме на нашите должници;

Not mine, obviously. But (marginally) better than the Erasmian abominations that pass for 'authentic pronunciation' at many foreign universities.

I pray in Norwegian, but plan to somehow learn to pray in English as well, at some point.
The ultimate dream-goal is to pray daily in Russian-Church Slavonic (if God wills it).
