A pregnant friend of my wife has been told by doctors that her baby is likely to have serious disabilities. She and her husband have made the heartbreaking decision to terminate the pregnancy.

Being Orthodox, I cannot agree with this decision. I am praying for them both and for their unborn child.

Lord have Mercy
Ending any human life no matter how hard it may be is horrible. That
is not a call for us to make. Best decision is to let things play out naturally and if someone does
die, then at least no one will have any blood on their hands because it will be from natural causes and we can take satisfaction in that we tried our very best.

Lord have Mercy!

Many years ago in the church I was a youth minister, a lady was told by her doctor her child would be terminally ill and wouldn't live past five years.  After a lot of tears and prayer later, she told the doctor she would trust God.  He continued to suggest abortion for months until her father finally had to step in.  The day came and the little girl was born perfectly healthy and as she grew she became an absolutely beautiful girl.  That is when I began to wonder how many other children were killed because a doctor was wrong.

Lord have mercy. Doctors likewise told my mother all kinds of devastating things when I was born (on account of my premature birth and incredibly low birth weight and associated health problems), the vast majority of which turned out to be quite spectacularly wrong. I lived when they said I would die, I didn't turn out to be a vegetable when they said I would never be able to function in society, etc. So I don't put much faith in the predictions of doctors or other men of science. I'm not anti-science, but a prediction is just that, and by no means fated to happen. I will certainly pray without judgment for the child and the parents, as I can't even begin to put myself in their shoes, but I do thank God every day that my mother did not listen to the experts who would've had her either abort me or shut me away in some kind of institution for the rest of my life. Thank God He gave me a good, capable, and loving mother. All children should be so blessed. Lord have mercy! Forgive and remit the sins of all involved in this tragedy, and accept the soul of the child into Your heavenly kingdom.

Tim Tebow. His mother was encouraged to have an abortion. Was told he would never be"normal". The doctor was right.

Indeed, I apologize.  My intent was not to distract.  This family is in sincere need of our prayers, no matter what their choice is, and will continue to need our prayers in the future.

Lord have mercy!

It's so horrible that people have abortions.  I would have 4 nieces or nephews more today if abortion didn't exist.   Who they are, I'll never know.  What lives they would have lived, what memories will not exist...   My children's cousins.... Gone.

May our Lord remember all the murdered unborn babies in his kingdom!

Many thanks for your prayers. They have now been through with the abortion. My wife says they are traumatised and keep talking about "their wee girl".
