The Roman catholic church has the "Catechism of the Catholic Church". Does the Orthodox have an equivalent text?

Welcome to the forum!

There is no formal, standardize catechism like the CCC. However, many Church Fathers have written catechisms, both ancient and modern. St. Philaret's Catechism linked above is a great modern resource.

As far as more ancient sources, St. Cyril of Jerusalem, a 4th century saint, has his Catechetical Lectures, which can be found both at the Christian Classics Ethereal Library and New Advent.

I believe that the RCC recognizes St. Cyril as a Doctor of the Church.

I don't think there's a formal book but each priest can decide what he wants to use. Mine gave me "These Truths we Hold" to read.

I warn you though, it's detailed and not very easy reading.

But for our official catechumen book we're using in class, he's using "Introducing the Orthodox Church". It's very quick reading. Almost elementary compared to the depth of "These Truths We Hold"

Somewhere here I posted the links to the Orthodox Confession of St. Peter Movila, which was also the first Orthodox Catechism used in America (in colonial Virginia).
