FaithTIME Magazine recently published an article on Israel's newest and fastest-growing faith community, the Messianic Samaritans. They're similar to Messianic Jews, with a few key differences. There actually are still a small number of people who claim descent from the original Samaritans. Their religion is a lot like Judaism, only they claim the other Jews had changes in their religion while they were in exile in Babylon. Here's the Wikipedia page about them. SamaritansI'm fascinated by real remnant cultures, but not by the Messianic types who graft themselves onto other faiths just because they're so afraid of the Orthodox Christians and Roman Catholics. |

Their religion is a lot like Judaism, only they claim the other Jews had changes in their religion while they were in exile in Babylon. Here's the Wikipedia page about them. SamaritansI'm fascinated by real remnant cultures, but not by the Messianic types who graft themselves onto other faiths just because they're so afraid of the Orthodox Christians and Roman Catholics. I doubt that even begins to get at the motivations of such groups. Especially the Orthodox part. |

Most religious naturalists are old, white, liberal academics... don't know how many of them have used a pitchfork before I was mostly trying to go for something along the lines of the humanism symbol, only simplified, and perhaps a bit closer to some religious symbols (Christian cross, Jain swastika, etc.) |
