Georgia official: KKK won't be allowed to 'adopt' highway

The Georgia Department of Transportation will not approve the application of a local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan to "adopt" a one-mile stretch of highway in North Georgia, a state official said Tuesday...

Unless they had plans to shoot gays, Catholics, and blacks as they drove down the highway, I don't see the problem in letting them clean up a one-mile stretch of highway.

because the city erects a sign identifying the group that "adpoted' a specific area, and the city doesn't want to be seen as endorsing the KKK or having visitors see this sign as they drive into town. If the KKK sues they will probably win though. the same thing happened here in VA; the Klan won the right to have the sign put up. The city placed them between Planned Parenthood and the Tidewater GLTB Pride Coalition.
