I am in the middle of reading the book "Christ the eternal Tao". I don't know if any of you have read it, but I find this piece of work absolutly fascinating!!!

It has also given me a new found respect for Father Seraphim Rose.

I was wondering if any of you have read the book, and for those of you who have, I would like to hear some of your insights or thoughts on the book (and subject)

I'm about halfway through it and it is by far one of the best books I've ever read.  I've always had an interest in the philosophical side of Taoism, particularly the stories of Chuangzi, and reading about Taoism in the light of Christ is exceptionally refreshing and gives a new insight both onto Taoist thought and Christian theology.

I particularly love the plates.  I wish I could find a place that sells prints of the artwork, because they're just incredible.

It is actually written by Hiermonk Damascene, not Fr. Seraphim, but Hieromonk Damascene is an associate of Fr. Seraphim's (resided in the same monatery in Platina).

I haven't read it yet, but it sounds interesting.  It looks too long winded though.  I can barely handle 600+ pages of a fantasy novel, let alone something philosophical (J.S. Mills will put me to sleep in 5 pgs).  I wish there was a condensed version that was 1/3 the length.

One thing I find fascinating with this book is that fact that it shows how the concept of the Tao is much closer in explaining the Holy Trinity than the greek Logos.

In the chineese Bible it says in John ch 1 "In the beginning was the Tao, and the Tao was with God and the Tao was God"...........and the Tao became flesh and dewelled among us......
