For a husband
« on: April 21, 2012, 06:02:32 PM »
I want God to bring me a husband who loves the Lord, is kind, wise, fun, would be a good husband and a good father, and with whom I would be a good wife and mother and I want the discernment to recognize him.
Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. (2 Cor 2:6)

Lord have mercy!
Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more.
A hasty quarrel kindles fire,
and urgent strife sheds blood.
If you blow on a spark, it will glow;
if you spit on it, it will be put out;
                           and both come out of your mouth

Such a prayer begets Saints! Blessed is the Lord our God who created Man for this glorious mystery! May the Lord grant you the desire of your heart according to his Will so you may be the kind of person he wants you to be. Amen Lord have mercy!

Only pray for me, that God would give me both inward and outward strength, that I may not only speak, but truly will; and that I may not merely be called a Christian, but really be found to be one. St.Ignatius of Antioch.Epistle to the Romans.

Greetings in that Divine and Most Precious Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

If only it were all just that easy.  I'll tell you like I've learned myself, in regards to romantic relationships, its best to be loose, to have few expectations, to go with the flow, and let people be themselves (including yourself) and if marriage is mystically in the cards, it will in turn reveal itself, but to mess up the in-between with expectations or worries is simply to waste a lot of fun ;)

You have been in my prayers the last couple of nights.

I remember what my priest told me when I asked him about finding a wife.  He said to me, "you need to loose weight and wash your face better.  30 pounds in six months."   ;D  Good advice!  He also reminded me that when Christ raised Lazarus He could have rolled the stone away Himself if He wanted to, but didn't.  God wants us to do some of the work ourselves and will help us when we get to a point that's out of our control.  Pray to God and He will answer you in some way or another in His own good time.  Worry most about learning discernment.  If He sends you someone and you shoot them down you will have no one to blame but yourself...I've learned this the hard way.

May God be with you and may He answer your prayers in a way where your will and His are in union!

I have a very devout acquaintance/friend . She's been praying and praying, she's good looking too but no luck yet and now she's getting to close to the point where they say that you no longer marry, but the  "babas" marry you off. The less devout though, didn't seem to have much trouble finding someone .

Lord, have mercy!

The less devout settled for someone who is also "less" devout.  Who needs that?

Then we must pray that the Babas choose well for her.
I would be happy to agree with you, but then both of us would be wrong.

Perhaps you might want to rephrase that one line? Though before I 'doxed I might have agreed wholeheartedly!

By loose I never meant to imply promiscuous, rather for folks simply not to get to radically emotionally attached in dating and also for folks to not have too many mutual expectations which in reality only hinder the natural progression of romantic chemistry.  Folks can be chaste without necessarily being prudish ;)
