Greece is still under the grip of an economic crisis. Pascha is Pascha, however, and the faithful honored the Resurrection of the Lord.

From the article:
Quote
Still, most Greeks families served roast lamb for the traditional Sunday feast that brings the Lenten fast to a close.

"We're out of lamb and will soon be out of goat too,» Kleanthis Tsironis, head of the Athens meat market, told Flash Radio on Saturday.

And a government plane was sent to bring back the holy flame that burns in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jersualem, marking the resurrection of Christ, on Saturday.

Has anyone seen anything about the Greeks singing the Greek national anthem when His Beatitude, the Archbishop of Athens, announced Christos Anesti outside the Metropolitan Cathedral in Athens?  My priest mentioned something about it at our Bright Friday Feast of the Life Giving Fountain Divine Liturgy.
