I mean think about how many people would put their own lives at risk just to get that kind of a prize.
Yeah, you'd be surprised. I know folks who work in low paying jobs like housekeeping and dietary who spend a couple of hundred bucks a week on lottery tickets. The other day at the grocery store i saw someone buy $100 of the scratchers at once. i knew a clerical person who took a credit card cash advance to buy tickets. wow. If such people use their money so foolishly when they have a little, does anyone honestly think that a huge windfall, such as winning the Mega Millions, is going to make them suddenly much wiser? |

It goes for happiness too: from the poorest groups to the richest, the statistical difference is less than 2% on happiness (I just saw this data again Saturday).
