"Lord Have Mercy on Me a Sinner!"

WWW
« on: March 23, 2012, 02:50:39 AM »

I want to thank God for life and health. I came home from the hospital Thursday after undergoing yet another heart procedure (the fourth one I've had). They found that my largest artery was 80% blocked, but they were able to clear it out and put a stint in to keep it open. I've had two heart attacks in the past, and I am so glad they caught this in time before I had another one. I was afraid that I might have to have open heart surgery, but thankfully that wasn't necessary. God has granted me more time in this world, and I pray that I would use this blessing of extended life to serve Him more fully and do more to make a positive impact on others. I am grateful for more time to repent. Thanks for all the prayers and support, and please continue to say a prayer for me when you can. I am exhausted, but my heart is full of gratitude and thanksgiving. Life is always a blessing. Don't take it for granted!

You've been in my prayers Gebre, since the post by Gabriel. Last week I was at the ER for some of my own heart stuff.

Again, I dunno if it is better to have a wife and children in those moments or not.

I feel frequently like I live with a time bomb in my chest. I can't imagine what it must be like to be "worse" off and knowing that time bomb ain't just going to affect you but others who rely heavily upon you.

Not that I haven't commented on this in a couple other places but we can't give God to much glory or each other too many prayers.  Smiley

Glory to God for the outcome so far and Lord have mercy on Gebre for continued healing and restoration to health.

thanks to God.
orthonorm, we all live with a 'time bomb'. just many of us forget we have it.
i've met people with serious health problems who have gone on to live decades unexpectedly, and others who have not turned up as expected coz they dropped dead that week.
i remember one atheist russian guy in his '20s who was perfectly fit. i had the opportunity to talk about God with him when i met him for the second time at the house of an acquaintance. i actually said something like 'you just have to think about God before you die, and as no-one knows when they will die it's good to think about it now.'
a week or 2 later, he was sat in his car at the side of the motorway (bad choice; should have got out..) and a lorry ('truck' for those of u in usa) swerved into his car; killing him right away.
i was really shocked.
we should, as said in the original post, thank God for every day, and prepare for our last day. God is merciful and will help us.
