A well done rip off and probably better than all this 300 crap coming out of Hollywood.

I'm sure Orthodox will go nuts.

I'll go see it when it hits the limited release theater which happens to literally an arrow shot from a Mosque up the street.

Looks a little too gory for me but from the trailer it seems to portray things not quite so biasly as I had expected when I first clicked on the link.

I always thought the invasion of Constantinople would make a sweet movie. Kind of a pity it was made by Turkish Nationalists, but it still looks violent enough to be entertaining. If this does well enough, maybe we'll get a Hollywood bastardization some day. I think I'd enjoy that.

should do wonders for Greek Turkish relations.

Is it coming out in May on a Tuesday?

"Turkish infidels" in 16th century? Wait, what?

It could be interesting to see this. While it's probaby Hollywood-rip-off it would be interesting to see the Turkish perspective on the conflict.

The beginning was really great, but once the Bud Light Platinum commercial ended and that moslem propaganda started it went downhill from there.

Forget about the story. I am really impressed with the high production values and the impression I got that the Turks look like most Europeans, may be even more so than Greeks. What do they do, film this in Bulgaria or Spain? Serious money (Saudi help?) was likely spent on this with the intention to show the movie internationally. That last part is what I think will tighten the jaws of many a Greek, especially in the current circumstances.

Wouldn't that be Gennadius Scholarius (who later became patriarch and may or may not be a saint, depending on which list you're looking at)?
