In looking up web material on Fr Seraphim Rose I found this:

http://www.orthodox.net/services/rite-chanted-in-time-of-attack-by-aliens.html

Do they mean illegal aliens?  Now I've seen everthing.

If you read it, C- R, you'd see "ungodly Moslems"

I *think* that in this case (since I suspect this is a translation) "aliens" could be taken as Auslanders/a military force from another country.

Reminds me of a cartoon I saw once.  When I was a kid in January there would be ads on TV that all resident aliens had to report their address to the government.  The cartoon shows a line of people doing this with a sprinkling of creatures from other planets.   Cheesy (I looked for a smilie of a green space alien, but we don't have that one here.)

Hey, we've got a liturgy for *everything.*

They should have used it in "Independence Day".  Wait, that movie was horrible.

It always cracks me up during English liturgy when I hear "protect us from... (something something something)... & the invasion of aliens..." during the litany.

Now where were we? Oh yeah - the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn’t have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

Reading Ania's message combined with feelling drowsy inspired a mental attempt to have a choral responsory of

"Gort, Klaatu barada nikto" (in 4 part harmony of course).  Grin

Ebor,

Well, the punctuation is off.  Cheesy It should be

"Gort! Klaatu barada nikto!"  But for response purposes that didn't seem right.

Here's the quotes page for the movie from IMDB:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0043456/quotes

What error did you see, Cizinec?
