Give me your list of the 5 best dance songs from each decade you can. These will be played at a church, so they gotta be clean. Our parish has a huge party on Pascha every year with a dance floor. So this list will help our young DJ widen her musical horizons a bit.

30s and 40s- Find a compilation with the word "swing" in the title. 50s- Bill Haley and His Comets "Rock around the Clock", Buddy Holly- "Oh Boy", Little Richard "Tutti Frutti, Chuck Berry "No Particular Place to Go" (Though "Johnny B Good" works for Back the Future fans), and Ritchie Valens "La Bamba". What the heck, number 6 "Chantilly Lace". Pretty much anything by the above six artists works. 60s- Beatles "Twist and Shout"; anything by the 4 Tops, my personal favorite "Standing in the Shadows"; any Beach Boys song with the word "surf" or "surfing" in the title; The Four Seasons "Walk Like a Man"; The Monkees "I'm a Believer". Though anything from 1960 through 1963 works. 70s- Parliament Funkadelic. That is all. Ok, the Ramones "Do You Wanna Dance". Blondie "Atomic" 80s- Let's make this easy. The Soundtrack to the Wedding Singer. Run DMCs "Tricky" and "Run's House". 90s- Big Bad Voodoo Daddies "Go Daddy-O"; Walmart versions of Dr Dre's "Nuthin' But a G Thing"; OutKast's "Ain't No Thang", "Two Dope Boys", "Skew it on the Barbie" 00s- OutKasts "B.O.B.", "Hey Ya"; Arctic Monkeys "I Bet You Look Good On the Dance Floor"; Los Campesinos "We Throw Parties You Throw Knives"; Gnarls Barkley "Go Go Gadget Gospel", "Blind Mary"

1970s: Donna Summer - I Feel Love 1980s: Lil' Louis - French Kiss 1990s: Deee-Lite - Groove Is in the Heart or Madonna - Vogue 2000s: The Chemical Brothers - Star Guitar
The reason why I didn't list anything prior to the 70s is because it's not exactly what I qualify as dance music. 30s-40s you had your swing music. 50s was rock and roll. 60s was soul and R&B.

1950s "Jailhouse Rock" Elvis Presley 1960s "I Want to Hold Your Hand" Beatles 1970s "Lucky Man" -- Emerson, Lake, and Palmer (I thought a slow one would be nice) 1980s "Cars" -- Gary Numan (Technically it was released 1979, but it sounds 80ish to me) 1990s "Jump Around." -- House of Pain (Thanks to the Mrs. for suggesting this one).

2000's - Russia Privyet, Basshunter. I think Glad You Came by the Wanted is clean, although you might wanna check that. 1990's - Wonderwall and Don't Look Back in Anger, Oasis. 1980's - Thriller, Michael Jackson, of course! 1970's - The Winner Takes it All, Lay All Your Love on Me, etc., etc., by ABBA 1960's - Perhaps the West Side Story soundtrack? Or something by the Beatles? 1950's - Elvis Presley?

It's a shame this is for a dance at an Antiochian church and not Tewahedo. Look at all the fun you could having!
