Being a bit pedantic (since of course there is no reason to disagree for the most part), but in a Russian Men's choir I was in for about 5 years (I'll leave out specifics to not incriminate anyone), one of the singers (a WASP convert) would on occasion correct grammar and pronunciation for text. Of course, this guy also had taught Russian at the Defense Language Institute for many years. As many of us English speakers know, due to the sad state of (Il)literacy of many Americans, many non-Americans actually have better spelling and grammar anyways.  |
