OC.net giveth:

Blessed Nazarius practiced the ascetic life. His clothes were tattered. He wore his shoes without removing them for six years.

I still would find it fantastic if hyperdox Herman was, in real life, a non-Orthodox christian, or even better non Christian

Of course we do, and we are NOT saying!

"Canonized"? HH is obviously contaminated by Western Captivity! St. Paisos was glorified and incorporated into the Canon of the Saints of the Orthodox Church!  Wait - 'incorporated into the Canon of the Saints' - couldn't you call that 'canonized' - the act of being 'incorporated into the Canon' ? Yikes, my head is going to explode!

It's common knowledge that you secretly want to be born in early 17th century Russia.  As a serf or a royal, I know not.  Chances are serf.

I don't know what his faith is but, going by a blank image of Hyperdox Herman, it was exceedingly easy to find his real name.

To make it clear: I have once or twice offered NicholasMyra to pass onto him administrating the facebook page as he created the meme. He denied but the offer still stand, that means he can ask for that anytime and I would do it. I can add he can ask anytime me to either delete that page, stop updating it or to pass administrating it on anyone else and I won't oppose.

My stomach hurt from laughing, and I'm crying a bit  From reading some of these posts.  I think a lot of the "hyperdox" stuff is over my head, I don't really get some of those....but a lot of those ethnic ones surprisingly apply to me (especially the ones involving drinking, and when I used to smoke, cigarettes)...I even find the parody of the "ethnic girl" my kind of gal.....which is odd, cause I don't really consider myself ethnic.   Such is life.

I still think the "ethnic" guy is a bit too Russian.  You need the Gold Chain wearing Mediterranean guy dressed up and buttoned down.  Only he is worthy of my precious jewel , "Cradle Christina".

You have small groups of possessed zealots who would do something like burn the country down due to a religious fascination with Obama, being ruled by Mormons from Utah,  or reading too much Thomas Jefferson?  That's kind of what I'm thinking about.

I have no love for Putin's Russia or their putative attempts at subversion, but I do grin at the protestations coming from the CIA, who have been subverting other governments, including Russia's, for quite a while and with much greater effect.

I agree. I think it's hilarious, and it's always funny to watch the CIA blow a gasket.  It takes a lot of info to get me to believe in a conspiracy, even if the Russians are involved, but my first sentiment was to laugh and kind of hope this is true...because Russians are hilarious when they do this kind of thing, the reactionary backlash and red baiting is first rate buffoonery... but my favorite thing to watch is all the over enthusiastic, tin foil hat wearing, wide eyed, apocalyptic optimists welcoming these things with open arms as they crawl out of their parents basement or some obscure university department ready to burn the world down for some great new vision.  It's this later group  I had in mind when commenting.

I could be wrong, but I don't think most of the world has that reaction to anything American.  We are talking about a very American trait with things like this when it comes to our native population and its interpretation of facts.
