6 months ago, we broke off our engagement (4 year relationship) due to growing differences in religion and other complications. I am having a hard time moving on. Everything else in my life is going in the right path but because of this heavy feeling of a broken heart in me, it has been really hard appreciating and thanking God for everything in my life. Please pray for me to get over this person, close this chapter of my life, and start a new one with a person God chooses for me.

In Christ,

Lord have mercy!

That old adage, it takes time? Well it does, but you need to make use of that time. I don't know what I can say that will make you more occupied in what you are doing than thinking about an ex. The only thing that worked for me was coming to God.

Thank you all for the prayers,
Surely getting closer to God is probably the only way of dealing with broken heart or any kind of challenge life continuously throws at us. When trying to get over someone, its not just losing the person that makes it difficult but also reorienting our lives and goals in a whole new direction. This can be overwhelming as I am little overwhelmed right now. Things are slowly getting better over the past few months but I still have a long way to go.
May the Lord have mercy on me and anyone else who is going through any kind of separation right now.

In Christ,
Bytania

Greetings in that Divine and Most Precious Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Lord, have mercy.

Been there.

Ouch, same here  Lips Sealed

To the OP
My advice, find a balance.  When we demonize those who have hurt us, we demonize ourselves for the love we shared with them.  When we romanticize those who have hurt us, we overlook the obvious realities.  Hence, a balanced and realistic perspective is all that can help the healing, and further, sometimes love lasts forever, even if relationships crumble, so faith is crucial.

I say dance and sing it up to this classic cut which I hope cheers up your dancing feet my sister..

..I will get along without you now..

stay blessed,
habte selassie

Hey Habte, that sure is a cheerful chant.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy I heard it a couple of times and it was playing in my head all day! Thank you so much for sharing it!
