"Puerto Rico Proposes Iguana Eradication Plan"

Quote
The government is proposing an iguana eradication project that would both eliminate the long-time nuisances, and bolster the territory's lackluster economy by exporting the reptiles' meat for as much as $6 a pound. ...

The reptiles have cost the U.S. territory hundreds of thousands of dollars annually by sunbathing on San Juan's airport runways and disrupting traffic; causing power outages by building nests near power plants and wrecking building foundations by burrowing holes underneath them.

This iguana meat is probably quite tasty resembling that of chicken, and the plan is a better ecological solution than poisoning or electrocuting them in traps.

BTW, iguanas are not native to PR, but were introduced into the wild when people released their pets into the wild.

I say bring in some hawks and eagles. Worked like a charm is NYC with the pigeon population.

Excellence of character, then, is a state concerned with choice, lying in a mean relative to us, this being determined by reason and in the way in which the man of practical wisdom would determine it. Now it is a mean between two vices, that which depends on excess and that which depends on defect.

We now have a lot of hawks here in Los Angeles.

In fact, one suddenly glided and landed very quietly on our flag pole this Saturday.
I waved my arms once (karate like wax on, wax off), and he flew away.
I think he might have been viewing me for dinner. Smiley

Our hawks are usually the red tailed hawks.

Oh, Glendale City poisoned their pigeons, and Los Angeles has made it a misdemeanor to feed those birds, but some yia-yias still feed them.

Some people will eat anything.

Other people just like to kill stuff.
