A new canonical Western-rite Russian Western-rite Vicariate website has been started in the UK. It covers the former St. Petroc Monastery (SPM) mission of St. Eanswythe in Dorset, (Reader services (Matins) at 0945 most Sundays) and the former SPM St. Nectan study group, who meet once a month for study in Devon.
There is now a third study group dedicated to one of the most important English saints: St. Edward King & Martyr, meeting at Cleethorpes in Lincolnshire.. These three groups now have an ecclesiastically blessed website:
http://www.westernriteorthodoxuk.org.uk/ Importantly for the future of these neophyte Western-rite groups, they have placed themselves under the protection of the Mother of God of Glastonbury.
There is currently no Western-rite Russian Orthodox priest blessed to serve these three groups, although their website says that
it is hoped that Father Anthony Bondi and Dom James M. Deschene will be able to pay a pastoral visit to the United Kingdom later this year.
Dom James (Deschene) is Father Abbott of the principal Russian Western-rite monastery, located in Canada, and Father Anthony (Bondi) is Pastoral Vicar for the Russian Western-rite Vicariate and head of the Fraternity of St. Gregory.
