Two New Armenian Churches Consecrated
« on: January 20, 2012, 01:28:21 AM »
Recently two new Armenian churches were consecrated in the Western Diocese:

Holy Resurrection Church in Seattle:

and St. Garabed in Rancho Mirage:

Here is the Archbishop consecrating the altar in Rancho Mirage:

It seems in Seattle, there were clergy from sister Orthodox Churches present for the consecration of Holy Resurrection:

It also snowed in Seattle!  Wow!

Well that's all the excitement for the Armenians in the Western US.   :)

Congratulations.  Those look like beautiful churches - something that is not always guaranteed since so many churches are forced to buy preexisting buildings (that are not always the most churchy).  The Armenian vestments with the red are also quite nice.  Is red often a choice of Armenian clergy, or is it standard for a consecration (I noticed that clergy in both photos were wearing red).

I know a secret about a former Supreme Court Justice.  Can you guess what it is?

I used to walk by that street for years on my way to school  ;D its a beautiful church, the Armenians have been in Ethiopia for more than a century, they have served Ethiopia as Ethiopians on various levels, and are one of the most hard working, devout orthodox , loving and humble people I have met.

look at this one, the man talks about how the 40 Armenian Children adopted by the emperor  heroically refused to play the Turkish national anthem to the deligates of Turkey that came during the anniversary of the coronation of the Emperor. It is such a delightful story to hear, the heroics of this young men and their unbending principle.

great is the Providence of God, that there are many Ethiopian Armenians today in Ethiopia who raise Ethiopian poor children and Orphans either by adopting them or by the direct help of their family and their children.Look at this one example here ..

To God be the Glory in all things! Amen!

Only pray for me, that God would give me both inward and outward strength, that I may not only speak, but truly will; and that I may not merely be called a Christian, but really be found to be one. St.Ignatius of Antioch.Epistle to the Romans.
