My boss was laid off today. She had been a wonderful mentor to me in the short time I have been at the company. I don't know all the BS drama that has gone on at this company, but she tried to shield me from it. She also made a highly concerted effort to build business for the company, and it looks like some of her ideas are coming to fruition. Now she is out of a job, and I am to report to the president who set her on her way.
If this wasn't enough, I have been talking to a lady friend that I have known for several years, with whom I am trying to start a Christian relationship with. We have been going about things the exact opposite of most relationships; that is we are surveying the entire landscape to see what the problems are, and how to tackle them. It looks like we might be able to make a go of it; now I have this s***.
Aside from referring me to passages such as MT 6:33, any Christian suggestions?
Any and all prayer, especially for my deeply Jewish former boss, Rachel, is greatly appreciated

It's sad when such things happen. All I can offer, besides prayers for you all, is that you not forget your boss. I don't know if you have a relationship where you can meet outside of work to comiserate, but try to emulate her qualities as a mentor for others whie at your job. As for your lady friend, I would say let the relationship develop organically, with prayer and patience.

God be with you.
