Thank you all for your prayers, it went as well as perhaps could be hoped, given that it was a total surprise to our Pastor and his wife that this is what we are doing. (I don't know I could have said something earlier I suppose, but I didn't want other people to pull us too hard in one way or the other while we were deciding, hence I never said anything either to our friends in our former church or to Protestant or Orthodox family members until we had made our decision.)
We parted with hugs and they gave me a Pepsi.
Anyway next step is tonight to write the Priest where we have been inquiring and inform him that we have formally left our previous, church and inquire about becoming catachumen. Then also tonight I will write a letter to our previous denomination resigning my ministerial credential. Then if all goes as planned Friday we will meet with the board of the previous church to speak with them in preparation to coming back for one Sunday to say goodbye to the church.
Could still use prayer for the rest of that. For me this was the big step, but for my wife the big part will be the emotions of saying goodbye to everyone. Our previous church was small and everyone is a friend, and feels like family, we will miss them.
