Dear Friends, Last year, we issued an appeal for help running this site. One person gave $20 which covered a month and a few days, and then another person paid for the entire year. We are grateful to these two individuals. The past three months, the three administrators, myself, Mor Ephrem, and Bobby, have footed the bill for the site. Bobby works but uses his income to pay for college, and Mor Ephrem and I are both at seminary. So while we are not poor and starving, it can be a problem to fund the site. We would like to ask the posters to help us out by donating a small amount of money. If every registered member donated 1 dollar we could fund the site for 3 years. But alas, not everyone is going to contribute So we are asking people to consider sending $5 or $10, or perhaps a larger sum if they feel called. Donations, which are not tax deductible, can be sent as follows: Dustin Anastasios Hudson 575 Scarsdale Road Tuckahoe, NY 10707 after a donation is sent, please private message Mor Ephrem and tell HIM that you sent the donation, so that the two of us can compare and make sure everything is accounted for. On the memo part of your check, or if you send cash (not advised due to our postal service) on a piece of paper, please indicate if you want the donation to be considered private or if you want to be mentioned in our donor's list. We are billed for three months at a time, and the cost is $44.85 per 3 months, although we plan to pay in advance for however much time we can with the money we receive. In addition we spend 10 dollars a year on the domain name. Thank you for any help you can offer us. Anastasios

Make the donations PayPal-able? Karim (who has posted here a couple of times) has joked about it with me, personally, wrt personal websites, but with this one, I think it would definitely be a good idea.

We thought of that but my question is: can you cash out a paypal account? because I cannot pay my internet service provider with paypal. Paypal also skims money off of each transaction. So I don't know: is that a good idea?

I have no idea. I don't see why not - it's a method of payment per se. Businesses have to pay a fee to cc companies, but it's the convenience that customers love so they do it. If it gets people to donate, then why not?

OK, paypal is set up! You may send your paypal contributions to dustin_hudson@hotmail.com. Any amount would help! And to those thinking of sending in a donation via the post office--even if you could send in one dollar in an envelope, if enough of you donate, that would help a lot! Thank you! As of today we have $35 dollars. Our goal for the year is $175. Thanks to all who have donated so far, and we would appreciate it if others send in their donation, even if it is only 1 dollar!
Thank you!

Thanks to a generous donation of $50, by ONE FAMILY, we are up to $85! That means we are around 45% of the way there to one years' worth of fees!
Your donation of one dollar, five dollars, or ten dollars will really go a long way to help--all we need is for 90 people to give 1 dollar, 18 people to give 5 dollars, or 9 people to give 10 dollars!
Thanks everyone!

Hi Dustin, I will send a payment via paypal to you today. I am a little short now, but will increase it later this month. Did you also know that you can set up a monthly subscription for members to send monthly via paypal?
Blessings, John

That means we are covered for the year! If you sent your donation already, don’t fret, as we can still apply it to the cost of the domain name ($10/yr) or to future OC.net costs.
Note: when the donation was not specified anonymous, I listed by the name on the check unless I knew the username of the person, in which case I used that. If you would like your name to be converted to username, or to Anonymous, please let me know and I will do that immediately.
