Do Orthodox have devotional books?  Therye pretty common in the protestant world, and I was wondering if there were similar types of books for Orthodox. Ive looked around a little bit, but havent found much.  Im thinking something that includes the daily scripture readings, a commentary on them, and some writings from early fathers.

Note that I am thinking something other than just normal prayer books.  Not that those arent sufficient, but im curious to see if other books are out there.

Even if we have thousands of acts of great virtue to our credit, our confidence in being heard must be based on God's mercy and His love for men. Even if we stand at the very summit of virtue, it is by mercy that we shall be saved.

This is an online or subscription service that covers the points you seem to be looking for.

I'm sure there are books out there as well, but this comes to mind right away.

Thanks a lot! Definitely going to check it out.

There is an iphone app that I am interested in called "A year with the Church Fathers" but it 15 bucks!! No thanks.  I think its based off of an actual book, but the book is $40 or so, which is a little more than I care to pay for a book right now.

The Prologue of the Ohrid by St Nikolai Velimirovich has daily reflections and homilies. These are based more upon the Saints of the day rather than the lectionary readings, though I think reading and contemplating Saints' lives is an important aspect of Orthodox devotional life. The prologue can be read online.

The various Daily Meditation and Daily Vitamins books from Light and Life might be useful:
