I have been lead to the Orthodox church by two dear friends of mine - and I love it. My whole life, I have been going to the same protestant (church of christ) church and never got much out of it. Living in a small town, we only have one Orthodox church with only about 50 people in attendence. I am seriously thinking of converting in the future, and am quite eager to do so. For now I am just meeting with my priest and asking questions. I am excited to have found this website, which has answered a lot of questions so far.

Thank you both! It feels good to get such support, especially since my family isn't supportive of me converting, unfortunately.

Welcome! And don't worry about resurrecting older threads. It is practically a sport around here. May the Lord have mercy on you in your journey towards the EOC...great that you are on this path at such a young age! (Although I'm not too much older myself) Liora

Im in a similar situation as you Catwell. I grew up protestant, and now I have found Orthodoxy and I feel like there is no turning back. This forum helped me so much too. I felt like an idiot for asking so many questions, but everyone was more than happy to help! Good luck, and if you have any questions, dont hesitate to ask! Growing up protestant like me, youre sure to find little things here and there that are difficult to understand at first.

I'm in the same situation as you-one OC church in town and I have been attending Protestant church previously and no, my family is def not supportive, same as you. This forum has been very helpful to me and I hope you will overcome all the challenges and find your home in OC
