Prayers for my aunt
« on: December 10, 2011, 11:54:45 PM »
I humbly ask for your prayers for my aunt, Michelle, who was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident tonight.  At this time the full extent of her injuries is not known, but she has at least multiple rib fractures and lung damage, and she is currently being taken to the local level I trauma center for evaluation.

I ask as well for your prayers for the other driver involved in the accident, who was killed, and for his or her family.

I ask also for your prayers for my aunt's family.  Based on what little we know, it seems likely that my aunt was the cause of this accident, and this is going to be difficult for all of us.

Lord, have mercy!

Lord, have mercy and grant healing, strength and forgiveness to all involved.

Memory eternal!

Conquer evil men by your gentle kindness, and make zealous men wonder at your goodness. Put the lover of legality to shame by your compassion. With the afflicted be afflicted in mind. Love all men, but keep distant from all men.

Thank you all, so very much.

She is critical but stable, with a cracked sternum, eight fractured ribs, and a collapsed lung, but she is awake and able to talk.  She had a visit from a priest today which seemed to help her quite a lot.  She is not out of the woods yet, but she has made a great deal of progress and, Lord willing, she will be out of the ICU soon.

To God be the Glory in all things! Amen!

Only pray for me, that God would give me both inward and outward strength, that I may not only speak, but truly will; and that I may not merely be called a Christian, but really be found to be one. St.Ignatius of Antioch.Epistle to the Romans.
