Harry Morgan, who played Col. Potter on the award-winning U.S. TV show 'M.A.S.H.,' has died aged 96.

From the article:
Quote
His daughter-in-law, Beth Morgan, told The Associated Press the actor died at his home in Brentwood after having pneumonia.

“He was side-splittingly funny, a very gent and loving father-in-law,” Beth Morgan said. “He was very humble about having such a successful career.”

May he rest in peace.

"Eternal Memory."

He played "Officer Bill Gannon," on the late '60's update of "Dragnet 19__."  "This is the city, Los Angeles California...my name's Friday, my partner's Bill Gannon, the boss is Captain ________; I carry a badge." "The story you have just seen is true.  The names were changed to protect the innocent."

He was a character actor in many '40's, '50's, & '60's movies and stared in John Wayne's last movie, "The Shootist," where he played "Marshall Tibido" (sp).
