Hi, everyone,

A while ago I posted that I am having some tests run.  I am being tested for a type of leukemia (CML) and may have a biopsy today for another type of cancer.  I've missed a lot of church lately due to a lot of the symptoms leading to this testing.

I'm asking for His mercy in that whatever He sees (what doesn't He see??!!)  in me that would keep me away from Him (Holy Communion) - that I am holding from Him. . . that I would recognize it and turn and repent from it.  I know in the past, every time I've been unable to go to church, there's usually something lurking in sin that definitely needs to be brought to Him so that He can heal me from it.  And I am usually wrapped quite securely in denial.  His ways are so much higher than mine. . .and I'm constantly missing the mark. . . I am blind. . .

I see one doctor this afternoon to find out if I need a biopsy. . .and I see the Hematologist next Wednesday for the current test results.

Thank you!
BethAnna

I would advise that you call your priest & see if he can come to you.  I make hospital visits on a regular basis & always go out when someone calls.  If you can't come to the church, the church can come to you.

May God's will be done.

**Grins**

Well, after some very scary moments - I can stand here and thank everyone for their prayers and thank our most Merciful God in Heaven for His loving kindness, mercy and grace to hear our prayers!

I am going to confession next Wednesday.  I can't wait to go. . . and thanks be to God for His strength and mercy, because I so have none - especially when denial is involved. . . or rationalizing something so not good.  He is good.  He is so very good. Smiley

I was supposed to have had a biopsy done last Wednesday, but my doctor was afraid it was too dangerous to do in an office setting and elected to do it in the hospital last Thursday.  When she was done, she told both my husband and I that she had not seen anything as bad as that before and fully expected it to be cancerous.  She said that she would let us know Friday at the latest as she knew we would want to know as soon as possible.

Well, Friday came and went.  Today, I called to see if the report had come in - she called me a little later and told me that the biopsy was benign.  She said that she fully expected it to come back as cancer.  She said both she and the pathologist expected this as the pathologist agreed that the tissue looked awfully bad.  She said the pathologist ran every bit of tissue and did not find any cancer cells.  He ran the test several times and still didn't find any cancer cells.

She said that I still need to have a hysterectomy - and would prefer to have an oncologist do the surgery just to 'make sure' as she has never seen anything so bad come out so . . .clean.  Smiley

She also thinks that perhaps the CML Leukemia test will come out negative (I have that result Wednesday) as she thinks my WBC was high due to this uterine issue.

So. . .thank you so much for your prayers!! Thanks be to God!! He is such an awesome God!!

I did FINALLY make it to confession tonight - Thanks be to God and thanks to my loving husband who was willing to drive me and pick me up.

I love my Church.  I so love that Confession is available to me.

My doctor's nurse called me this morning and told me there won't be any surgical news until after the New Year as both my doctor and the surgeon are on holiday.

I have every hope and to receive Communion on Christmas Day.  Smiley

It's an odd thing to be sitting at home on your couch - and be thoroughly homesick!  I'm so thankful that Christ left us His Church.  How beautiful is that?!  And we are partakers?! How totally awesome!

Thank you for your prayers, everyone. I'll update this after the first of the year once I know what is supposed to happen next.

Update:

I am still missing church quite a bit, but have found that reading/praying the services when I would go to church has been very helpful.  I try to go to the services if I'm not in too much pain.  My husband has been very helpful in driving me to church so that I don't miss any pain meds when I'm doing well enough.

I went to the doctor today.  She wanted to do another ultrasound as she was very afraid that the negative biopsy was a false negative, and she didn't want me to have a surgery that wouldn't address the cancer she was convinced I probably have.  I had the ultrasound today - and she is now finally convinced that I do not have uterine cancer.  (Nothing grew back in the last month.) I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy on Feb 3rd.

Because my white blood cell count is still increasing, they are going to do a robotic surgery that is minimally invasive so that I don't have as much bleeding risk.

I asked her if the uterine issues (I like the word 'womb' soooo much better. . .it's just a more graceful word.) would cause the high white count, she said that if it were cancer, it would, but this is not cancer - so no.  My hematologist was hoping this was the cause.  I will have more blood work done in three months for the hematologist, then again at six months - he will see what my white count is doing, then and talk about having a bone marrow biopsy if it is still not resolved.  The first leukemia test was negative, but there are other forms of leukemia.  :-/

If you could continue to keep me in your prayers as they work all this medical stuff out, I would be greatly in your debt.

Thanks!
