Hello again everyone,
Somewhere during the first part of this year, I started viewing pornography online. I would view it on and off, but recently I have started to feel like I am getting addicted to it and it's awful (probably once a day). After I view it, I feel guilty because I know I am sinning against Christ.
Anyways, this is a topic I can't really talk to my pastor about and I would appreciate the prayers. I really need to defeat this.

Dear Sir,
I see you are Southern Baptist. You do understand it is the devils temptation that has gotten you to the point you are at? Lust and pornography are powerful tools of the evil one used to pull us into eternal darkness in my humble opinion. Notice how everyone is asking for our Lords mercy for you. He is the only way out of this. This is a slippery slope that will suck you in deeper than you can imagine, and the longer you stay the harder it will be to return to light. Trust me I know. I can also tell you from experience you CAN defeat this through the provision promised by our Father; the strength of Jesus Christ! Please understand the evil one is not attacking you as an individual but has the ultimate goal of bringing down God's kingdom. It's not about you. He tries to pull down individuals, families, the Church, because that is what comprises God's kingdom. Please realize you are not just defending yourself as you fight to defeat this!
I am sorry to hear you are not comfortable speaking to your pastor about this. Is this because you are afraid of his reaction or is it out of guilt and shame? To my understanding guilt and shame do not come from God. God awaits you with open arms as we are all His prodigal son. If there truly is not a preacher or elder you can turn to may I suggest you submerse yourself in prayer and scripture. I am just a fool and don't want to give false counsel but when we face the trickery of the devil I was taught that we are not capable of doing so ourselves. Through the grace of God however you certainly can! Even in solitude we are never alone.
God bless you and keep you!

There are heathens that live with more virtue than I. The devil himself believes Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Neither of these things truly makes me Christian.
